Torri’s Legal Services is a Federal-Certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise. We are also a Maryland-Certified Minority Business Enterprise, and finally, a Virginia-Certified Small, Women-owned, and Minority-owned Business. This makes us a minority status contractor. Our NAICS Code is #541199: All Other Legal Services.

Certifications are through the State of Maryland Minority Business Enterprise Program (a subset of the Maryland Department of Transportation). Our VA qualifications are through the Virginia Department of Business Minority. We also sought certification through the U.S. Department of Transportation. With these certifications, we qualify as a minority business for state-funded contracts and U.S. Department of Transportation-funded contracts.

What it takes to get certified

In order to be certified as a minority business, we provided extensive documentation about our company and its owner. After completing the application process, a person from the state office then visited us for verification. In all, it was about an 8 month process. We are so pleased to include this as yet another benefit to our current and potential clients.
